Oppenheimer + Democritus

One atom, two ideas, thousands of years apart.

Democritus was an Ancient Greek philosopher that first formulated an atomic theory of the universe, hypothesizing the atom to be the foundational, indivisible component for everything in existence.

More than two thousand years later, J. Robert Oppenheimer—one of the primary physicists that created the Atomic Bomb—shattered the philosopher’s hypothesis and changed the world forever.
